This introductory course to precious metals describes the five core precious metals – gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and rhodium – and establishes the reasons for their value.

The history and uses of the metals provides a perspective on their status today. The precious metals are also discussed in terms of their function within the portfolio as an asset class.

Other information includes the markets on which the metals are traded and how the investor can participate in this highly volatile yet glamorous investment.
